Leadership
A Fundamental Foundation pillar is leadership. Our program will be lead by the example set forth by our staff, by our work ethic, paying attention to detail both on and off the ice. Leadership will be a complete effort from the bottom to the top. The ownership of our program will be felt, earned, kept and invested in by every member of our program and will make a FAMILY that is bonded in every aspect.

Testimonials

Kelly Knetter
Kelly Knetter
Kelly was definitely the heart of our team while she played for me. If we were having an off night, Kelly was usually the one who rallied us through her compete, battle and positive energy. She just would not accept defeat, EVER! She finished her career by playing in 99 Games for us, recording 22 Goals and adding 34 Assists. She was an Assistant Captain her Junior year and chosen to be a Captain her Senior year. She graduated from Eau Claire in 3 and a half years, a testament to her work ethic.

Abby Roeser
Abby Roeser
It took Abby a little bit of time to break into our lineup and her stats may not jump off the page at you, but she was one of the best players we had. Her work ethic was contagious and she did an amazing job of holding her teammates accountable to the culture we built. Her speed and ability to take an absolute beating in front of the opposing team's net during the powerplay is legendary. During her playing career she played in 93 Games scoring 16 Goals and recording 13 Assists. Abby also graduated from Eau Claire in 3 and a half years, a testament to her work ethic too.

Monica Sjodin
Monica Sjodin
Monica has a future in comedy if she chooses it. She is the player on the team that always has people laughing. On the ice she is a heathen!! Her compete is off the charts and her passion motivated her teammates. She was one of the best D we had who was able to get her shot through traffic and onto the goal. She played in 95 Games recording 10 Goals and 16 Assists.

Sami Meister
Sami is one of the most positive people you will ever meet. She is always smiling and a player that every coach wished they could fill an entire roster with. As pleasant as she is off the ice, she is the ultimate warrior on the ice. She is physical, competitive and smart. She was a key piece of our PP for the last four seasons. She was a three time 2nd Team - All WIAC selection. In her four years she played in 113 Games scoring 12 Goals and recorded 40 Assists.

Elizabeth Bauer
Elizabeth Bauer
Elizabeth or as we called her "Biz" is one of the smartest players I have ever coached. Her passion for hockey is through the roof. She is getting into coaching and will make an excellent coach! In 2020 she was recognized as 2nd Team All - American. She was also a three time 1st Team All - WIAC selection. Biz was very important for us on both the PK and the PP. She had an immediate impact on our program and recorded 114 Games Played, scoring 37 goals with 69 assists. She is #2 in scoring in our program's 20 year history.

When I think of an example of the Blue Collar hard working player that never quits I think of Emily. She is excellent with sneaking passes into tight spaces and is also extremely sneaky and gets away with playing very physical because of her size. Emily's path was different than her twin sister Elizabeth. It took her a little longer to break into our lineup on a consistent basis, but she is a great example of what happens when you stay persistent, work hard and have a positive attitude. She finished her career as a Blugold by playing in 94 Games, scoring 13 Goals and recorded 27 Assists.

Kelli Pritzlaff
Kelli Pritzlaff
Kelli has passion for our game and a can do attitude that is contagious. She is very positive and helped the team in anyway possible. She was always one of our hardest workers and is the defintion of persistence. She ended up playing in 47 Games for us scoring 1 Goal (one of my favorite goals ever!!!) and adding 8 Assists.

Jaedyn Walz
Jaedyn Walz
Jaedyn was entering her Sophomore year when I took the program. She was able to experience two coaches and the uncertainty that occurs during a coaching change. She was a hard two way player for me. Her senior year she was a Captain for us and demonstrated on a daily basis what the effort and battle needs to be to have success. Jadeyn trained like she played, determined and hard. In her career she played in 110 games recording 24 Goals and 32 Assists.

Holly Turnbull
Holly Turnbull
Holly is a 2019 1st Team All-American for us. She was recognized 1st Team All - WIAC for us. She was an Assistant Captain for us her Senior year. On the ice she is fierce, physical, possesses a tremendous shot and was not a D that any player wanted to go into a corner against. Off the ice Holly is very compassionate and ready to help a teammate out with whatever they need. In her career she played in 112 games recording an amazing 32 Goals and 41 Assists from the blue line.

Erin Connolly
Erin Connolly
Erin or as we call her "EC" now holds nearly every important record a goalie can achieve for a program. She was the first Goalie I recruited to UWEC. In her four years at UWEC she boasts 102 Games played, 22 Shutouts, a 93% career save %, she is the 2020 WIAC Player of the Year, the 2020 Runner Up for the Laura Hurd Award (awarded to DIII's top player), a 2020 1st Team All-American, the first person in our program's history to win the WIAC's Judy Kruckman Scholar-Athlete Award and the first player in our program's history to be recognized as a 1st Team All-WIAC four years in a row. Her extraordinary performance on the ice pales in comparison to her leadership off the ice. She is the first goalie who was a Captain for us too.
